Characteristics
The Green Cheeked Parakeet is always playful, affectionate and intelligent, known to have a “big personality in a small body”. They can learn to talk, albeit with a limited vocabulary and a cracking voice. In captivity. They can live up to 30 years with proper care, although the average lifespan is usually 10 years. It is  that they can create color mutations in the cage.

Nutrition: They like to eat small seeds such as millet, sunflower etc. and they also like to eat other fresh fruits and vegetables. When raised in captivity, it is still the same, but green vegetables are added. Commercial parrot food is also a suitable choice.

The Green Cheeked Parrot is a favorite among beginner birders because of its relatively low price, small stature, mild temperament, and relatively low noise level, compared to its brothers. Its larger cousin. Green-cheeked conures breed quite easily and are therefore very readily available.

The green-cheeked conure is one of the smallest parrot species and people take it to be the chestnut-bellied parrot (Pyrrhura frontalis), a close relative. These birds are so similar in appearance that they are often incorrectly identified by pet stores or even their owners. They are about the same size, about 10 inches long, and both are mostly green.

Green-cheeked parrots are a bit brighter in color than chestnut-brown parrots and have gray stripes on their chest, fading into a reddish belly. The chestnut belly has a yellow stripe on the chest and the distinct heart-shaped chestnuts shadow the belly – hence the name. Both have dark gray beaks and feet. They are most easily confused when they are young, before their full colors appear after their first molt.
